Bafflegab Productions is an audio production company producing original drama.
In 2018 we’re producing a four-part supernatural series for Audible Originals, as well as releasing an adaptation of the 1971 folk horror classic Blood on Satan’s Claw, starring Mark Gatiss and Reece Shearsmith; an adaptation of Clive Barker’s novella The Hellbound Heart, starring Alice Lowe, Tom Meeten and Neve McIntosh; and podcast series Grandma Guignol, starring Anne Reid.
We also produce the award-winning Baker’s End, a comedy drama series starring Tom Baker and Colin Baker (as themselves); The Scarifyers, tales of comedic supernatural intrigue set in 1930s Britain (as heard on BBC Radio 4 Extra); Hammer Chillers, a horror anthology series produced in collaboration with Hammer Films; and The Brenda and Effie Mysteries (winner of the New York Radio Award 2015 for Best Audiobook).
Bafflegab has also released Peter Cushing’s readings of his own autobiography and Sherlock Holmes stories, and Vince Cosmos: Glam Rock Detective, starring Julian Rhind-Tutt.
The company was established in 2006 by network radio producer Simon Barnard. Simon has produced documentaries for BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 1; music shows for BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6Music; and won three Sony Awards, including Gold in 2005 for the John Peel tribute documentary Teenage Dreams So Hard to Beat.
